Description of 1956 Lincoln Continental

UP FOR SALE IS A HIGHLY OPTIONED 1956 MARK 2 ( LATE PRODUCTION 1956 WITH ALL ORIGINAL DRIVE TRAIN ) THAT RUNS AND DRIVES VERY WELL. I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN JUNE OF 2004 AND DROVE FOR 2 YEARS THEN DECIDED TO REBUILD THE DRIVE TRAIN. AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE IT HAD 69,570 ORIGINAL MILES AND IT CURRENTLY HAS 78,544. THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION HAVE LESS THAN 6,000 MILES ON THEM AND RUN PERFECTLY. THEY BOTH RECEIVED A COMPLETE REBUILD INCLUDING ALL INTERNAL PARTS. I HAVE ALSO REPLACED THE BRAKES, CARB, FUEL FILL HOSES, WATER PUMP, RADIATOR, AC HOSES, FUEL PUMP AND U JOINTS . THE STAINLESS TRIM IS COMPLETE AND IN NICE SHAPE. THE BODY HAS BEEN PAINTED TWICE AND IS SHOWING ITS AGE. THE INTERIOR IS IN VERY NICE SHAPE FOR ITS AGE AND SEEMS TO BE ALL ORIGINAL EXCEPT THE SEATS. ALL POWER WINDOWS AND SEAT WORK AS THEY SHOULD. THE GAUGES ALL WORK INCLUDING THE TACH DRIVE DISTRIBUTOR. THE ORIGINAL HUBCAPS ARE IN GREAT SHAPE AND THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED LAST YEAR AND HAVE LESS THAN 100 MILES ON THEM. THE BODY IS IN GREAT SHAPE AND ONLY HAS TWO RUST SPOTS IN FRONT OF BOTH REAR QUARTERS ( SEE PICTURES ). THE FLOORS AND TRUCK PAN ARE SOLID WITH NO NOTICEABLE ROT.
THE ONLY ISSUE WITH THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS THE OUTSIDE FRAME RAILS THAT ARE SHOWING SOME ROT THE INTERNAL RAILS ARE SOLID AND NONE OF THIS HAVE AFFECTED THE DRIVE ABILITY OF THIS CAR. MY PLAN WAS TO DO A FRAME OFF RESTORATION AND I EVEN HAD A FULL FRAME ( SPOTLESS CONDITION ) SHIPPED IN FROM CALIFORNIA THAT IS INCLUDED IN THE SALE. I REALLY WANTED TO DO IT BUT HAVE SO MANY PROJECTS I'M NOT SURE IF I'LL EVER GET TO IT. AS I SAID THIS CAR WAS HIGHLY OPTIONED WITH THE VERY RARE AC & DEALER INSTALLED ORIGINAL SEAT BELTS. THIS CAN BE DRIVEN AS IS BUT IS ALSO A PERFECT CANDIDATE FOR A FRAME OFF RESTORATION. IT STILL HAS THE NAME TAG ON THE CARPET OF THE ORIGINAL OWNER.
