HISTORY OF THIS PARTICULAR CAR This Seven has traveled just 7,971 miles since it was constructed by an Aerospace engineer in Seattle, ashington. The car was ordered to his exacting specifications as a new car from Denver based Rocky Mountain Sports Cars, he only West Coast Caterham dealer / distributor at the time. The documentation on the "7" is as extensive as we have seen and provides a superb history on the car dating back to its original delivery to the original owner / constructor who took two years of patient work to build the car. The "Book" is tabbed for easy reference to everything from the cars initial sales invoices to repairs, aintenance and parts purchases since new. The 7 is fully street licensed and legal for road use carrying a clear title as a 1968 Lotus. The state officials accepted the car under a special program and, s a result of its appearance titled the car legally as a Lotus. The Super Seven is fitted with 100% of the required street equipment including: full windshield & wipers, egal lights, urn signals, orn and safety equipment (3-point seat belts). There is also an accommodation for "fixed" 4 point belts should the cars new owner have an interest in fitting one or both seats with period style quick release belts/harnesses. The car's original owner owned the car for over 14 years but, s the car's very low mileage and condition support, sed the car on an extremely limited basis. Subsequently, he transferred ownership to a caregiver who had the car for 1 year but travelled internationally and decided to sell it as a result of his schedule and the limited parking in his downtown high-rise condominium unit. Of course, he "7" was always garaged, overed and fanatically well cared for both cosmetically and mechanically. The car has extensive history and includes rarely retained documents including: - The original invoice and import documents from Charles M. Schayer & Company reflecting the car's import from the United Kingdom - Purchase Invoice & Delivery Information from Rocky Mountain Sports Cars - The sales invoice from the engine builder in the UK, P Enterprises for the engine and 5-speed transmission - The original Classic Limited Edition sales invoice reflecting options and delivery information to the car's original owner - Extensive and thoroughly documented maintenance history from date of build to present (Please refer to "Maintenance", elow) The "7" remains in "like new condition and free from cosmetic imperfections that we see on so many Super Sevens that are "driven hard and put away wet." The car has virtually no flaws that detract from its appearance either inside or out. We used the Super Seven as our personal car for "Car Week" this year on the Monterey Peninsula accumulating over 400 enjoyable miles during a week-long trip. The car received compliments everywhere we went amongst exotics and cars costing literally millions more! Plus, am confident that our pure driving experience was more rewarding than others. Additional details regarding the car's options, eatures and condition can be found in the paragraphs below: DETAILS-THIS PARTICULAR CATERHAM SUPER SEVEN There is little dispute amongst Lotus Super 7 enthusiasts that the Caterham rates as one of the premier 7's in the market. The car was designed as a true tribute to the original Colin Chapman Lotus 7 with the objective of strict adherence to the appearance and concept of the Lotus but with considerable improvements to performance, afety and comfort. With a total weight of 1212 lbs. (weighed when titled) and balanced, lue printed Ford Kent 1.6 liter Crossflow engine, he car has a wonderful power to weigh ratio, s well balanced, nd totally reliable. We have had a wide range of "Seven-esque" vehicles ranging from early, uthentic Lotus 7 cars to 250 horsepower monsters that, f there is such a thing as too much horsepower, ave just that. Mechanically, e personally think the car is built just right. It has the benefit of the 5-Speed transmission making it very drivable on the freeway coupled with the durable Ford Kent (ala Cortina) engine and a live rear axle for predictable and "fun to drive" handling. No expense was spared in the car's construction including the proper, eriod appearing Minilites (Minator) Avon tires and the Sport Scholarship suspension upgrade. The car looks right, andles great and is even comfortable and "livable."
