Description of 1985 Lotus Esprit

For auction a 1985 Lotus Esprit Turbo in running conditions. The car is pretty much complete with only 75,526 miles on her. She has a new clutch pump and rebuilt clutch slave. 5 speed transmission, clutch, etc. just serviced. New rear brake rotors and pads. I rebuilt the rear left caliper. I am including the seal kit of the rest of calipers. New black carpets, new suede headliner, suede shift boot, suede headliner and suede seats with red stitching. I have original seats included in the auction but they need to be re-upholstered. The dashboard needs new leather where black leatherettehas been installed. It has all original glasses "XXX" England manufacturer on her and I have original BBS wheels with an extra price for them, because they are not included in this auction. The wheels included are the black powder coated OZ 18" Italian staggered wheels, similar to the 2000 V8 Esprit used to come with. I am selling it as a "project car" because the front brake calipers are not having any pressure and they need new pads. I think this is due to the brake pump needing the seal on the first piston that send hydraulic pressure to the front. The rear brake calipers are in working condition but the car does not brake safely. I was told that this Lotus used to belong to a mechanic shop owner that used to work on Lotus cars and it has high-compression piston like the HCi models. I actually have an HCi model myself, that is why I don't need this one. I installed a new bigger turbocharger with a high flow stainless steel muffler, so this one will be a very fast Esprit. Matching number complete car that will increase value with the years to your collection. Original spare tire still in excellent (like new) conditions. Still have all original paint but the hood and the upper section of the left door. You can tell is the original paint because it still have the original decals from factory. I would re-spray the whole upper section of the car, though. Don't miss this opportunity, because there are only a few of these remaining in the market. This car is more rare than my Porsche 930 and it will go up in value just like my 930 which is going for the $100K. This Lotus is even more rare than the rest of the same year or newer because it is the carburetor-turbo version which they didn't bring to USA anymore because it didn't pass emission regulations back then. This carburetor-turbo engine is the last time Lotus did this setup. It is like the air-cooled; they don't make them anymore. This European engine version is about 10HP higher than the USA fuel injection version. The engine runs strong and the timing belt doesn't look cracked or toasted, but I was going to replace it for a piece of mind and I am including it in the auction. This car is a Texas' car, rust-free which is a plus. She was a barn find which spent most of her life in Texas and in the last years at a shop and then in a garage "barn" storage, where I found her. This one is a good base candidate for a full classic car restoration if you would like to go that far. She will not be that hard to get it restored, mainly when you can drive her around, instead of pushing her around. I did the hard part which is the drive-train and finding a bunch of hard-to-find parts, now it is your turn to do cosmetics. This listing is including ONLY the OZ Italian wheels 18". The OEM original BBS 16" wheels are NOT included unless you pay extra for them. It was getting dark tonight when I took the pictures, so I will post more pics of the interiors tomorrow. The interiors are black and grey which is a rare combination as well. I installed racing seats black suede with red diamond stitching in the mean time I restore the original seats, which both sets are included in the auction, I just ran out of money to do the upholstery of the seats in real leather. The car is listed locally so I reserve the right to end the auction. This car is way more rare than Ferrari's 308 and 328 of the same era and people are realizing about that so the price is skyrocketing !!! This is your last chance to own a real exotic collectible car for cheap. NO RESERVE !!! HAPPY BIDDING !!!
