Description of 1966 Lotus Other

ADVERTISED LOCALLY - MAY END EARLY -SO LET'S MAKE A DEAL - A beautiful and rare RHD 1966 Lotus Elan S3 Coupe - British Racing Green/Silver Stripes/Black Interior. I have spent over 300 hours making this as nice as I can but keeping the 1966 patina. The look and feel is 1966. This car has only been driven 300 miles in the last 12 months. Serial # 365521 Right Hand Drive Spyder Chassis with Coilover Wishbone Suspension and new TTR Shocks Spyder side protection and roll bar 1600 cc Lotus Ford Twincam by Holbay 180/190 compression - recent inspection. Twin 40 DCOE Webers Alternator and 12V + ground conversion - Electronic Ignition Electric Aux fuel pump Aluminum Fuel Tank Aluminum Radiator with Twin Aux Fans Aluminum Flywheel Ultra Close Ration Gearbox - shifts smoothly 3. 55 Diff - gives a top speed of 130+ CV joint rear axels Pannasport 13x6 Wheels - with 175/70 x 13 Tires New carpet - fully Dynamatted for sound and heat All instruments work - tach has been redone for electronic ignition. Speedo reads about 12 mph too high. Original headline and visors - nice - not great Original seats with 4 point harnesses - passenger seat has a 1" tear on seat bottom SuperTrapp exhaust. Windows have been converted to modern motors and channels - original parts included in sale. Headlight have been converted to Miata motors - original parts included in sale. runs cool - windows go up and down smoothly - headlights go up and down better than new. The not so good:Paint is really nice from 10' - last painter (before I bought it) was not so hot. Body has some patches and a few cracks (as is norm with 1966 fiberglass). The paint shines and looks good but doors have lots of orange peel - I give it a 7 out of 10. Front end shows some results of an average repair if you look closely in the air inlet. The windscreen is delaminating on both lower corners and is pitted from 50 years of use. A new windscreen is $250 from UK landed in LA. The Dash looks nice but has developed hairline cracks at stress spots due to dry LA climate. Very serviceable but to change a new Dash is $450 on ebay. The car is sold as is - so I would suggest you look at it or send someone to check it out. Email - yahmann1@verizon. net with ??Car is for sale locally. so I may end to auction early if sold.
