European Motor Studio is excited to bring to market this incredible find. This example is the Prototype of the 1991 Lotus Turbo Esprit SE Jim Clark Indianapolis Special Edition cars that were launched to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 victory win in 1965. This example is the Prototype which wears a small metal plaque on the dashboard labeled “#0 Prototype”. This example varied slightly from the numbered cars with extra yellow finishes on the body. This particular... example has been in Southern CA and Scottsdale Arizona for many years of its life and now for sale out of a private collection. Wearing just about all of its original Racing Green paint (the front lower skirt and lower portion of the nose has been painted), there is an excellent shine and deep luster. The original leather interior is in excellent condition, still soft with no tears or fade and the carpets and headliner are all in excellent condition. The wood in the pinnacle does have some cracking in the finish but the leather dash and binnacle look excellent with no shrinkage or tears. The 2.2 liter Turbocharged engine starts right up and runs superb. Recent timing belt service and cam cover gaskets have been done along with newer rear suspension and shocks. Newer tires placed on the car last year with only a couple hundred miles on them. All of the electronics are working and operating on the car including the pop up headlights, interior and exterior lights and both power windows, mirrors and locks (AC not blowing cold). The original books, keys, Lotus Certificate of Authenticity verifying the provenance of the car, clean and clear Carfax and some service history are all present with the car. This is an outstanding and rare opportunity to acquire one of the Holy Grails of the Esprit model.
