Description of 1967 Maserati Coupe |
This listing is for a very nice 1967 Maserati Mistral coupe. It is a late model with the original 4.0 liter engine(only 298 built with this option), speed ZF transmission, nd Borrani 15" wire wheels. It has an alloy body designed by Frua and is a European model with 86,000 Km on the odometer. The Mistral has been an undiscovered 'sleeper' in the vintage exotic car collector market. It is starting to become recognized for what it really is, lightweight, seat, hort wheel base sports car with plenty of performance from a high torque dual overhead cam six cylinder engine with Lucas mechanical injection putting out 255 horsepower and direct lineage to the famous 300S Maserati race car. This Mistral was delivered with a Grigio exterior color, ut it was painted red over 35 years ago and was recently repainted, gain in red. The interior was redone in black leather with black carpeting about 15 years ago and is still in very good condition. The Borrani wheels were restored 15 years ago and the tires are Pirelli P3000's with less than 3000 miles on them. Most of the chrome has been re-plated and all the lenses have been replaced. This Mistral runs strong and shifts through the gears crisply. I've done a current compression check and the results are as follows: COMPRESSION TEST done on 8/2/14 I have owned this Mistral for about 15 years and bought it off a friend who had owned it the previous 20 years. It has always been garaged during those intervals. Prior to that I have no knowledge except that it was delivered new in Dec. 1966 to a customer in Genoa, taly. The odometer shows 86,000 Km which may be correct because I've put less than 5,000 Km on it and the previous owner didn't use it much either. This is a numbers matching car with the VIN, ngine and frame showing the same serial number. I believe that all other components are also original. Payment to be a bank wire within 5 days of end of auction and transportation is the responsibility of the buyer. I will deliver the vehicle to a local pick up location. This vehicle has attended many Maserati events and recently was shown at Concorso Italiano in Monterey at the Blackhorse Golf Course on the 16th of August. It was also on the track at Laguna Seca the next day for a few laps honoring the 100th year anniversary of Maserati. It will be in Monterey again this year and will be shown again at Concorso on Aug. 15, 015. For more information or questions email me at carnutz@juno.com. There is a reserve on this Maserati. Please don't ask what it is. It is not fair to the other bidders.
