Description of 1979 Maserati Other SS |
1979 Maserati Merak SS Low Miles Beautiful Italian Sports Car. Much of the collector market has been somewhat static but some of the foreign sports cars have been on the run in terms of limited availability and new collectors seeking them out if you look today for a nice MERAK SS will be very hard to find or very expensive. On 1979 this car was compared with FERRARI 246 DINO nowadays worth around $400000.00 that means those Maserati still forgotten. This Maserati Merak SS for sale is a very limited production in what we consider the most desirable color.Besides the wonderful design these cars are known for their handling characteristics the car has been kept as part of a collection and runs out just as it should. The Maserati Company owned by the Orsi family set out to not only remain involved in racing but to introduce a series production sport and GT car. Orsis sold out to Citroen in 1969 and soon after the Maserati Merak V6 was introduced in 1971 and Italian styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro. In 1976 Alejandro de Tomaso took over Maserati and improved the Merak in 1978 by replacing the Citroen hydraulically-assisted brake system with the Bora’s ZF five-speed transaxle and larger wheel and tyre package making the Merak a better balanced performer. Maserati’s build quality greatly improved under de Tomaso’s management. The three-litre Merak is a prime example of a great Maserati engine in a nimble and balanced chassis with commendable driver and passenger accommodations and wrapped in Giugiaro’s styling which has more than stood the test of time. The late model "SS" cars (like this example) use the much more attractive leather interior.Only 277 Merak SS were built with the Bora style interior and are the most desirable. This 1979 Maserati Merak SS for sale here is fly yellow (original color original paint ) with black interior. This car has 7.856 miles and was always kept in a A/C controlled garage. The car does have paint chips and the usual minor paint lifting around the wheel wells. If you have watched the auctions in the United States and Internationally you will notice that these cars are commanding great prices. With a little TLC you could have a great investment with this car and enjoy the pride of ownership as well. With only 277 of these built you will have the opportunity to own a unique and rare piece of Italian sports car styling. It would be fair to say that car collecting in general is divided into two major groups the people that collect American cars and people that collect foreign cars. In the world of foreign cars the cars that seem to be on everybody's bucket list are the two-seater sports cars. The Maserati in this ad could be defined as one of the most interesting and desirable up and coming Maserati collectibles that are out there. Rare Opportunity Inspections are Welcome.. Please read the ad before “make a offer”. "Car is sold As Is. We encourage bidders to come and inspect the car. We will not accept complains if the car is not inspected you need to consider that this is a 79 years car and we can not give guaranty warranty whatsoever. Buyer is responsible for Transportation." |
