Description of 1990 Mazda MX-5 Miata |
Up for bidding is a magnificent 1990, herry red Miata. The first year of production, his pop-up headlight version is already a classic. This particular car, ith only 33,5xx miles, as been lovingly cared for and garaged it's whole life and hardly ever driven in the rain. To most, t looks like it just drove out of the showroom. Options include a factory hard top which was original with the car (new, fter market hard tops sell for $1500), ruise control, ir conditioning, nd power steering. The car was originally bought in Montana, nd sold a few years later to an elderly gentleman who lived in Western Washington. He drove the car sparingly and kept it garaged. The car was sold a few years ago, ith approximately 26,000 miles on the odometer, o a couple in Western Washington, ho drove it down to Palm Springs to use as a car in their vacation home. The two-seater proved to be a problem, o they drove the car back to Washington and sold it to me a few months ago. The previous owners put new tires on the car when they bought it. The brake pads also look to have been recently replaced, lthough there is no record for this. The rotors are in decent shape, ut were probably not turned when the pads were replaced. The car has been diligently serviced since new. It looks to me like the hoses and belts were changed within the last few years, ut there are no records for this. I purchased the car with 33,050 miles on the odometer. I intended to keep it for quite some time, ut lady luck has been good to me and another, ore exotic sports car classic fell into my lap. There's only room in my garage for one, o sadly this Miata must go. The paint is original, nd has the patina of a 25 year-old, ell cared for paint job (some faint swirl marks from waxing). There is not a spot of rust on the car, ven in the area most common for this model (in front of the rear tires). There are a few small nicks, xpected with a car of this age that has been driven, nd one very small ding on the left rear fender (see photo). It's about the size of a pinto bean. There is one scratch on the trunk lid, bout 1.5" long. It has been touched up with Mazda touch-up paint, ut the job wasn't done particularly well and the paint is slightly off (see photo). The soft top is in immaculate condition. The hard top is also immaculate. Upon purchasing the car I had the slave and master cylinders replaced. I also changed the front turn signals to an intake grate/LED product, ecently introduced for the Miata. This was done mostly for esthetics, ut this allows for better air flow into the engine compartment, hich makes the possibility of a cold-air intake upgrade more feasible and efficient, o I added this as well. The performance gain from this modification is slight. I have all the original parts and these will be included with the car. I also added a pretty, ed leather shift boot and the chrome gas lid. Finally, added the mud guards. With the exception of the boot and the ash-tray change, he interior is 100% original. The old boot and original ash tray will also be included. These repairs and upgrades added up to about a $800 investment in the car. Also purchased was a car cover, hich will also be included. I also built a simple but effective storage rack for the top, he winning bidder is welcome to own this as well (I'll dismantle this and fit it in the trunk if the car is shipped). Inspections are welcome and encouraged. Please arrange for inspections prior to close of auction. Additional photos are available upon request. $500 non-refundable deposit required with 48 hours after close of auction. Full payment required within 1 week from close of auction. |
