Description of 1993 Mazda RX-7 |
I’m selling a good condition 1993 Mazda RX-7 Touring Model, Montego blue with tan interior. One of the best condition stock FD3 RX-7's around. The only modifications made are to increase reliability and airflow. The stock exhaust has been replaced with a custom built $700 Peter Farrell 3” T304 stainless steel catback exhaust. Peter Farrell also replaced all hoses, seals, and the water pump. In 2005, Peter Farrell replaced the original engine when the chassis had around 60K miles with a brand new remanufacturer stock RX-7 motor. If you google Peter Farrell, you can see this guy knows how to take care for FD RX-7s. The chassis currently has 82K miles so the motor now has 22K miles. The car has always been gently driven and never tracked. Was taken care of by an adult professional, non-smoker, and no pets. Also, no odds smells. Interior and exterior are in very good shape. There is no accident history. I have a clean Carfax and Auto Check showing a clean and clear title history. There is not even a fender bender. Everything on the car is original, all matching VIN numbers on body panels. Almost show room condition. No rust spots or paint fading. Paint still shines. There are couple of rock chips on the front bumper/hood but not very noticeable and it is not deep enough to chip away the clear coat. Have all factory floor mats, trunk trim, and interior trim. Weather stripping and seals are in great condition, no water leaks. I still have the factory keys and original owner’s manual. Everything works except for the radio power antenna and the door handle on the passenger's side is loose. Neither issue affects the operations of the stereo or door function. There is also a small chip on the driver's side interior handle console cover. The interior trim is in great shape but there is slight fading in the black plastic/leather and slight wear in the seats but ArmorAll should brighten it up. A/C, Cruise, Power windows, and power moon roof works smoothly without any leaks. The tires have very good tread left as indicated by the pics. This car has been garaged all its life in a climate controlled environment and has not seen much, if any, snow. Car is washed and wax regularly. Car has been properly stored this past winter. I just recently restarted the car for the spring and the car still idles smoothly. The car passed the MO state licensing inspections this week without any issues and has been driven multiple times this week without fault. I replaced the oil and filter this weekend but the car can use a good tune up to operate at full potential since it was stored for the winter. There is nodash warning lights, noexhaust smoke, or overheating of the engine. Alignment is good. I thought I was going to keep this car forever but due to life changes, I unfortunately will have to let this go to a good home. The was one of my dream JDM cars in that era similar to Toyota Supra 2JZ, MR2 turbo, Nissan Skyline RB26, Silvia 240sx SR20, 300ZX, and Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4. Imagine a light weight version of the modern sports cars (Porsche Boxster, Cayman, Honda S2000, 350z, 370z, WRX, STi, Evolution, etc.) with less emissions restrictions and more power potential. If you want to leave it completely stock, it is still very fun to drive. However, it would be a perfect candidate for a FD manual swap or a LS1 / LS2 6 speed swap to compete with the Dodge Viper, Corvette, or Mustang Cobra. This is a very rare car. According to Mike Haun based on information gathered from Mazda Distribution, only 244 1993 U.S. Montego Blue Touring automatic models were ever made. The entire 3rd generation RX-7 is around 13K units. I have tried to reflect the physical condition of the car in the pics. Please keep in mind, this car is not perfect but in very good condition when considering it is over 20 years old. Please email me with any questions or offers. Thanks! |
