Description of 1979 Mazda RX-7 GS |
RX7s haven't hit collectable status yet butI think they're getting close and this would be a great one to have ready for that time. This one rolled off the assembly line during the first month of RX7 production, March of 1978, and I'm the original / only owner taking delivery in July of 1978. I'll say 99% of the mileage was me driving. 20 some years ago I finally wore out the clutch and replaced it but had complications before I got the final couple of hours finished so the car has been sitting covered in a garage ever since. I don't have a lift and my eyes are getting bad but I cannot see any rust which I believe as this car has seen show only once in its life. Last spring I had to move it and found no sight of rodents. The car is highly original with aftermarket parts used only for routine maintenance. The paint is original with these few exceptions. I was hit in the rear and knocked into the car ahead so the rear bumper was replaced (no sheet metal damage) and a new front bumper make ready, That's it in the box in the interior. I was also hit in the left rear receiving a little damage behind the fuel filler door. This was repaired by my local Mazda dealer. The right rear has a dent from a kid on a bicycle. 3 hits, all behind me. My RX7 will require some mechanical work to get back on the road but the body and chassis are exceptionally good. The damaged fiberglass air damn on the front can be removed. last summer I turned the engine over by hand and it was easier than I'd planned. I also put Marvel Mystery Oil in it. These pictures were all taken last spring. This RX7 is being soldas is where it sits so shippin, delivery, or pickup is up to you. The zip code is 66215 to help you figure out getting it home. I'd like a $500 deposit to PayPal at the end of this listing. I'm open to question that you may have through ebay. This has probably been the best car I've ever owned but I finally realize that I'm not going to get it going anymore so it's best to pass it on for someone else to enjoy. |
