Description of 1993 Mazda MX-5 Miata LE |
Being offered is the highly sought after 1993 Mazda Miata MX5 LE The 93 LE is arguably one of the rarest and mostdistinctive and stylizedlimited edition series of Miata's ever produced. They only produced 1500 of these vehicles. And sadly today thereare far fewer than that left on the road in the world today. This model was only available in the USA in 1993. This is number 626 of the1500 originally produced. This car with some of the other survivorscan be found online at the MX5 Limited Edition Registry. I have not owned this car very long. But I can tell you it looks and runs great. I acquiredthe vehicle in a trade. I was looking for a sporty daily driver to enjoy the South Florida sun in. But the car was ( I think ) to nice to leave outside in the weather. So it stays in the garage and basicallyonly gets driven to a local cruise in / cars and coffee events on weekends ( just like the car I traded). The car always gets total props at cruise-ins and stories often follow of the person's currentor past love affairwith theirMX. So long story short I still need a daily driver and will have to regretfully let this car go to free up space for my upcoming VW T4 project. Of the cars I have a collected over the years including but not limited to BMW 7 series, Boxster, 911, RX7, VW's, Fiats, and Alfa's this MX-5 will run head to head in the smiles per mile category. The MX5 is a classic open roadster in the purest sense of the word. This car has hadseveral owners.Based on the condition of the car it looks like they all appreciatedand took very goodcare of thevehicle. The mileageas indicated is said to be correct.Currentmileage is a little over 167,000. The car runs straight. The new suspension and tires really give a great ride while maintaining flat sure-footed handling. Find yourself top down on a winding road and you will be having a great day. The car is equallyenjoyable on a top down highway road trip. The seats are firm and offer very good lumbar support. The gears shift smooth and tight.I was surprised by the short accurate throw of the shifter. Synchros work as they should no grinding on down shift. Steering is tight with no left and right play in the wheel. Tires are plus 85 % tread. No rust. Glass is in great shape. No rips in leather or interior. The trunk is clean and rust free. Door seals are in good shape. The top is new and does not leak. I have many service records I will include with the sale. The Brilliant Black paint is mirror like. Due to how clean the engine and underside of the car is, a common sense visual inspectionwill show all the new bits. About $5K worth of maintenance and preventivecareover the past 36 months. Most notably:New Top.New Paint.New shocks. (originals in box included).New springs.New sway bar bushings.Brake service including a new caliper.New Spark Plug CoilsNew PlugsFluidsTiresSeatbeltsNew radio/CD with Aux audio in and USB (original x2 included in sale)New radiator.New battery.New door speakers.A/C cools ice cold as it should. Recently serviced/upgrade to r134.The list is longer it includes most of the things it takes to keep a car of this age in this condition. The interior is in very good condition with no tears in the leather. All electrical systems work as they should.Engine compartment well detailed. Below are somegeneral details about this very special Mazda's MX5 LE.( text from LE registry site ). Description:1993 Mazda MX-5 Miata LE First, Some history on this very special Miata: The Miata' s you may have already known, Have always been a very special car, being rated consistently in Car&Driver's 10 Best. In the spring of 1993, The Mazda created a very special and unique Miata, The 93 LE. This "LE" was a limited edition productioncar, with only 1500 sequence numbered LE's made for sale in the United States. Mazda took a fully loaded B package Miata (power mirrors, owner-assisted steering, leather-wrapped steering wheel, headrest speakers, cruisecontrol, power windows) and addedeverything they could think of from a performance and cosmetic standpoint to create the LE. ColorThe most stunning feature of the LE is the Brilliant Black car lined with a deep red interior. The seats were made of red leather, and the carpet and dash were also matched with the same color. The red carpet floor mats also have the embroidered "Miata" script. Aluminum TrimAluminum trim and panels brought out the "retro look" that is making the trend in today's roadster market. The LE was truly designed ahead of its time. The speakerkick panels havea shape reminiscent of a Harley-Davidson gas tank or a 1957 Corvette door panel. The tweeter speaker is also mounted with an aluminum surround. The door sills are aluminum with the "Miata" script as well. Externally the LE is dressed in frontair dam, rear lower skirt, andrearlip-type spoiler. This rounded out the subtle, yet aggressive sports stance of this car. The shift knob is wrapped in leather by Nardi. Mazda PerformanceAlthough the engine still is a 1.6L four cylinder, The suspension received many upgrades as well. The springs were stiffer and coupled with factory-specificationshock absorbents. This gave the LE a very "go-cart" feel, Manytend to change these out for a more civilized daily driver. Another highlight of the LE is the ultra-light forged aluminum BBS wheels. These 14" wheels weigh only 8.5# each, allowing the driver to benefit from decreased unsprung weight. On unpredictable surfaces, The viscous-type limited-slip differential keepstorque on the wheel with friction. The anti-locking brake system (ABS) kept the tires gripped on the road during hard braking. In summary, this 93LE still remains one of the rarest and best Miatas every built.
