Description of 1988 Mazda B-Series Pickups |
||
This is a professionally done V8 swap. The engine is a slightly built 302 with an automatic transmission. Both were removed from a 1995 Ford F150. The engine received a cam and a tune up while the transmissions got a shift kit topped off with a B&M shifter. Headman Headers were customized for this application. I also swapped out the EFI for a Holley 650 and an intake Nothing rubs or has been installed in a way that would prevent this vehicle from doing what it is meant to do: kick some ass and put a smile on the lucky SOB behind the wheel. The truck itself is in great shape with no major body damage or rust before the swap. It is the extended cab version so it has some extra storage behind the seats. The original seats were swapped out for some Camaro units that have more adjustments than a chiropractor in s strip mall. They also fold forward to allow access into the aforementioned storage area. The rear end was swapped out for a Dana 44. This makes the rear end much stronger and allowed the 295/50/15s to be installed without any rubbing or cuts made to the body. The wheels are GM super sport reproductions in chrome with center caps. The gauges have been upgraded with a 9" tachometer and autometer water temperature and oil pressure units mounted in the center console. The stock speedometer works perfectly. In case you decide to race this truck, the original tank was replaced with a fuel cell that is mounted in the tool box in the bed. It is a 20 gallon tank but there is still enough room left over for a tool bag or a helmet. All of the doors and windows work, the power steering works, the shifter works as expected. In the last six months I have replaced the spark plugs, coils, starter, alternator, battery, and changed the fluids. This is a toy that I no longer play with and am ready to let someone else have a turn and do burn outs all the way down the block.
