Description of 1983 Mazda Other |
Additional Equipment and Accessories. The following items have been replaced: all interior upholstery (headliner, walls, doors, bucket seats), carpet, dashboard (dashcap), steering column shroud, rubber pads for footrest, clutch and brake pedals, gearshift boot, two dashboard air conditioning vents, hydraulic struts (2) for back hatch window, pouch for detached sun roof, carburetor emissions control module, windshield wiper water reservoir bottle, catalytic converter, muffler, radio motor with telescoping antenna (after market), wiper blades (front and back). The air-conditioning coolant conversion has been made. Recently (September 6, 2019) a new air-conditioning compressor, dryer and hoses were installed.Maintenance History.Always passes inspection. Motor-related work (tune ups, belts and hoses, alternator, new clutch assembly and clutch hydraulic system) has been performed at a 5-star rotary engine garage. Just had tune-up done there November 19, 2019. Condition of vehicle. Body, bumpers and glass are good. Interior has been restored (very nice). Paint is good (with several items that could be improved [2-3 small cracks in the sun roof, two small hail dents on right passenger door post, visible drill-bit damage to rear bumper (a surface groove about an inch and a half long)]). I've been told the car has been repainted (nicely done). The dome light lens is not an exact fit. Had to be trimmed. Attached with tape, but looks okay. During my ownership (5 plus years) the car was totaled in a hail storm. But as the photos reveal, there is now no visible damage (except as mentioned above--2 small dents which the repairman might have overlooked). Excellent repair. Needs choke knob replacement. Switch that opens hatchback is inoperative (hatchback can be opened with key). Left taillight is missing. I'll see what I can do to repair these items. The vehicle is insured for $13,500 as a classic with Hagerty. "Buy it Now" price is the same. |
