Mazda built the RX-7 from 1978 through 2002 in three different generation, all of which were front engine, rear wheel drive rotary powered sports cars. They were lightweight and compact and were an instant success. The Generation cars were built through 1985 but it's the Series 1 cars of the Generation 1 cars that are the most sought after. Sure, comfort, convenience and power sure went up from there but they are the most iconic. This particular RX-7 is a two-owner from new car with the current consignor owning the car since 1985. The front chin spoiler/air dam was added at the dealer and still retains its original Recaro seats with speakers in the Head rest. The mileage of just over 66,000 miles is correct. The car has been mainly in a climate controlled storage for the last eight years or so only being driven once or twice in that time. The car is all original and does blow smoke at time of cold start up. Once warm, the smoke disapates. Furthermore the car does not leak anything and goes down the road quite nicely, shifting and braking very good. The white paint could use a really good detail but there is no rust evident and was never driven in the winter months. These are becoming hard to find in unmolested with long term ownership history. It is 100% stock and is ready for its next adventure.
