- 1972 Mazda RX2 Rotary, Manual Trans, Factory Ac, Barn Find. Purchased from friend. Car has been sitting since 1983 when his brother parked it and joined the NAVY. I purchased and put new tires on immediately to get on trailer. Old tires were flat and rims sitting on ground. I put Marvel oil in cylinders and was able to get it running for a minute...however have not been able to after that. Engine turns, guessing compression may be low due to sitting so long and apex seals aren't tight. Car is pretty much complete! The air cleaner base is missing, but top is in trunk. Has been sitting in New Mexico Weather / dry and warm. I see only 2 tiny spots of cancer on rear fenders about mid way up (size of a quarter). Roof has some small pushed in dents from items being set on top. Minor little dings on body, one spot of bondo on rear quarter panel near bumper....all fixable. Interior has sat in sun so will need to be re-done. Light switch broke off when we tested it, and steering column housing needs screws but is there. Have original keys for ignition, trunk, and gas tank. Clean 1980s Title signed and ready to go. Tranny shifts fine, glass is all there and not cracked. Brake cylinder seal leaks. All in all a pretty complete car and great builder for the Rotary lover! These cars are hard to find and values are high. Please see the videos for walk around. Thank for looking!
