Description of 1960 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

Excellent high end documented 1960 Mercedes 190SL - 121 040 10 015923 Purchased new in California and then
moved to Arizona until being sold in 2010 for $65,000 then shipped to Wisconsin where it has been
only driven in nice weather and never in the winter. Over $12,000 in receipts in the last several years for updates of brakes - brake booster etc from one of the best Vintage Mercedes restoration shops in the USA - Brooklyn Motoren Werke, nc - Car is valued at well over $200,000 by Hagerty insurance
I recently was a judge at the 2015 International 190sl convention and this car would have easily place in the top 4 at the concourse competition .
I have owned 177 190sl's and have been in the parts business since 1988 so I know a little something about these cars and can say that this is
a great find for anyone wanting a great investment that they can drive and enjoy . This car is being offered at less than Hagerty insurance value of well over $200,000 !
This belongs to one of my customers who I have worked with over the last 25 years and helped buy another red 190SL many years ago that was also in very nice condition!

This 190sl was purchased as a coupe in 1960 -121-40 vs 121-42 - however it was also ordered with the soft top frame as well and the number in the frame
is the same as the last 3 numbers of the body # showing that the soft top is the original one that came with the car . Engine etc are all original to the car .

The hardtop is not with the car and location is unknown -- There were many hardtops in California that just gathered dust over the years as they were not
used much so I would assume the original hardtop was sold off many years ago since it was not used . Mileage shows in the 26,000 range but may be over 100K
miles .
I have pictures of all the work orders from Brooklyn Motoren Werke, nc., ho offers more than 35 years of experience in Mercedes-Benz service, estoration, nd recommissioning, ith an emphasis on safety, eliability, nd performance. NOTE: Last year, a 300SL Gullwing that they worked on sold for 2.5 Million !
This car was repainted in the past and the interior was redone as well . The paint is the original color Fire red ( also called Fire Engine red )
Interior is Black leather ( All coupes were sold with leather and radios as standard - they were options on the roadsters )
Solex carburetors were replaced at some time with Webers as you can see in the pictures -original air log and air cleaner were retained .
This is a very nice running and driving 190sl as well . There is an optional full tonneau cover included as well as original tools tool bag
and glove box pouch with some of the original books .
