Description of 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series

Up for Auction is my 1987 Mercedes 300TD. This is a rare diesel wagon in good condition for the year and mileage. This car is not perfect and if you are looking for a perfect car. this car is not for you. True Mileage Unknown. When purchased odometer was not working and showed 235k. Speedometer was replaced with Good unit showing 249k. I have owned this car for the last 10k miles. Was a daily driver until I upgraded to an ML320 CDI. Car starts instantly even below freezing and runs smoothly. In cold weather will run rough for 15-30 seconds due to this model not having afterglow. Engine has no major leaks and oil consumption is approx. 1. 5qt every 3k. Transmission shifts between all gears. Engine Oil and transmission fluid changed 1k miles ago. All Major options work with the exception of cruise control. Power Windows and Locks (driver lock is intermittent). Power Seats and Headrests. Power antenna. Power telescope wheel. Power Passenger Mirror. Climate Control. Sunroof Tilt/Slide. ABS and no Airbag Warnings. This car has little to no rust on the chassis. It does have a few rusts spots at the bottom of the driver door (is not original to the car) and tops of both rear doors at the upper seal. There is no Rust at the jack points. side skirts. floor pan. rear wheel wells. rear subframe or undercarriage. During a recent alignment the shop even complimented about how "rust free" this car is. Car has upgraded side skirts and cladding. I was unable to get the lower trim for the trunk because it had been removed from the donor car. The Good:-#17 Head. Head was replaced prior to purchasing the car. I have no history. -New Injectors (not rebuilt) OEM balanced. -New Fuel Returns-New Motor Mounts-New Transmission Mount-New Front Brakes-Rebuilt Starter-New Bosch Glow Plugs-Newer Dash-Replaced A/C Compressor (evaporator had been perviously replaced/verified when dash pulled)-New Tensioner and Tensioner Shock-Newer Bridgestone Ecopia Tires. -Newer Blower Motor. -New Headlight Surrounds -New Tailgate Shocks-Newer Speedometer/ Odometer and Trip odometer work. The Not So Good:-Perviously Repainted. Looks decent but not perfect. -Car looks to have been previously wrecked. Front Driver Fender and Door have been replaced. (Driver Door Lock Key does not work)-Leak at AC Condensor (had to have charge topped off last summer) You can see oil on the fins. -Rear Subframe bushings will need Replaced. Under light throttle will "clunk" into 4th. Flex joints good. -Driver seat upholstery is worn. Lower cushion and spring have been replaced. -Interior is clean but rough. -No flare or hesitation in transmission shifts. Occasionally will slip after has shifted into 4th. Pulling gear selector back to 3rd and manually shifting into 4th resolves. Has not reoccured since transmission fluid change. Fluid was not burnt or discolored. -Rear hydraulic shocks are weeping. I have 2 good struts that will be included with car. -Driver side brake was intermittently sticking. Brake Hose and Caliper did not fix. Replaced ABS pump which seems to have resolved. -Car has dents. dings and scratches associated with a car over 20 years old. **DISCLAIMER** If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask before bidding.
