Description of 1983 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series |
1983 Manilla Beige 240D Automatic Transmission, ower Sunroof, anual Windows, 6k miles. Is it "perfect" no, ut it is the nicest W123 I've seen. One of the mirror covers is broken in the sun visor and there are 3 MINOR door dents that I'm guessing could easily be removed. Other than that I have replaced every fluid and filter and fixed every minor issue I've come across. The biggest issue I fixed was the vacuum system that works perfectly now. Since I've owned this car it's seen rain twice, nce on the ride back after I bought it and on the way to the garage where it is now. $15,000 - I'm guessing Mercedes Motoring would list this for at least $25,000 going off of what I've been seeing on there. Right now it is at European Autowerks on Virginia Beach Blvd. in VA Beach, A. This is the write up from the ad when I found it online on Hemmings. I still have all the paper work, eceipts, anuals that he mentions below: 1983 Mercedes Benz 240D .. Absolutely pristine, ne of the best anywhere. 64,500 miles with most of that being accumulated by the "little old lady" original owner in San Jose, A. The car made its' way east through her estate to her son in Virginia. Repair tickets show 34k miles in 1991 in San Jose and 54k miles in 2003 in Virginia. The son owned the car as late as 2008 (60k) when it fell into the hands of a series of collectors. I have detailed every inch of this car from front to back, ncluding a comprehensive detailing of the engine compartment, oor ways, nd the trunk. The car is in unbelievable condition for its' age .. a testament to how well these cars were built by Mercedes back then. The interior beige MB Tex is in perfect condition and I put new OEM plush floor mats in recently. The son had the car serviced at Import Autohaus Limited in Midlothian, A. The owner I bought it from had the car regularly serviced by an experienced MB mechanic and said that he always told the mechanic to "do whatever it needs". I've just thoroughly enjoyed driving this masterpiece around town on sunny days and marveling at how well made these cars were (I owned a 1982 240D many years ago and my daughter took it to college). I have most of the original owners documents, ncluding the 1983 Owner's Service and Warranty Policy reflecting delivery by Smythe European in San Jose, A, n 4/16/83. |
