THE OVERVIEW Offered for an appreciating new owner at is this rare classic 19881 Mercedes Benz 420SEL sedan! THIS IS A NO-RESERVE FIVE DAY AUCTION ENDING WEDNESDAY, UGUST 19TH 7 PM PST! [OR....HIT THE BUY IT NOW BEFORE THE FIRST BID IS ENTERED!] Finished in Alpine white over tan leather hides, his long wheelbase ALWAYS California sedan has been driven an average of about 9,000 miles per year since purchased new. It sports a good running 4.2 liter V8 engine mated to a factory automatic transmission with stopping power provided by four wheel disc brakes with ABS. This 99.9% sedan features COLD AIR CONDITIONING, lectric leather seats, lectric windows and sunroof, hrome alloy wheels with good rubber, actory stereo and more. It is being sold with clean and clear California title and current registration and recently passed stringent smog testing. This is a great value in a roomy and solid classic Benz for less than the cost of the sales tax alone on a new C class! THE BODY AND TRIM The exterior of this 1988 Mercedes is in good 99.9% rust-free condition with good shine to the paint finish. Imperfections on the outside of this car include some touched up scraping on the front bumper along with various minor scratches, nicks and other light blemishes. This is still a very handsome and stately low-priced classic Benz sedan! THE INTERIOR The interior of this non-smoker car is in good to very good original condition overall. The horn, ights, linkers odometer, peedometer and other gauges are in good working order as are the electric windows and sunroof. The air blows cold, here is a bit of typical wear on the driver side seat bolster, tear on the passenger seat cushion and some other light wear and tear spots inside this still solid and comfortable cockpit! THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE This 1988 Benz starts up easily and runs fairly well and smooth. The acceleration is good, he transmission up and downshifts beautifully, he braking is strong and straight, he suspension is fairly tight with good steering feel and quiet exhaust. There is a little clunk in the suspension which I believe is a worn ball joint. At 27 years old, his big Benz still has a solid, afe and comfortable ride and drive! THE DETAILS AND $$$$$ |
