Description of 1981 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series

this beige wagon with palomino tan interior was a california car it's entire life until i shipped it here to Honolulu 3 years ago. bought it from a friend in Ojai, A and took it to Los Angeles to be restored both cosmetically and mechanically by mercedesmotoring.co, he premier vintage mercedes benz restoring company.
the day i went to pick it up it was sitting next to another 300td wagon that belonged to jerry seinfeld.
they sell these for up to $40,000!!
the entire inside was restored...including new wood throughout, ew upholstery/carpeting, ew front seats. under the hood, he transmission was redone along with brakes.
recethe engine runs smooth and is solid.
since having it here in hawaii various small things have been done to it. the fuel tank was redone and replaced several hoses and refreshed the A/C.
the A/C runs cold and strong flow of air (though it only has one speed). windows are tinted. has a panasonic am/fm/cassette deck. speakers are original and work (though not amazing sound obviously by today's standards).
power windows all work, s well as the vacuum sealed door locks. rear hatch stays open.
car's suspension is great and it doesnt have the rear sag.
new set of toyo tires went on about 2 months ago, long with alignment. has a michelin spare.
it's a classic car and drives smoothly and reliably. the pick-up is a little slow especially on steeper inclines(which is typical of these cars) but once it gets going it's got pep and speed. drives great on the freeway or cruising around town.
it's been my second car and driven usually 1-2 times a week.
known issues:
-odometer stopped working at 172,795 miles about a year ago (realistically the mileage is probably around 185,000)
-small amount of rust on the bottom of several of doors
-antenae doesn't go up or down
-right passenger side mirror slowly drifts down and doesn't hold its position after time
-leather center console has cracks
-the rear seat upholstery holster is loose on the bottom (only noticeable when seats are flipped up for storage
-the plastic storage compartments on driver and passenger doors are loose
-tiny nick in the windshield
-a few paint chips and nicks/patches can be seen throughout
