1972 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 4.5 Sedan. 2nd owner 142,000 original miles. Up for Auction here is an a 1972 Mercedes-Benz W108 (non-air suspension) 280SE 4.5 Sedan. Purchased new by a newly wedded couple in 1972 who used it as a daily driver until the 1980's when the vehicle reached about 100,000 miles. Around the same time the front fenders were replaced by a Mercedes-Benz dealership due to rust issues. After the fenders were replaced and painted the original color, he vehicle was retired from daily duty and used as a Sunday driver. The 280SE was acquired by the Fred M. Kemp foundation in 2013 for display in the Foundation's museum before it closed in June 2015. This 280SE is equipped with the 4.5 liter M117 V8 engine and is one of about 14,000 produced between the 1971 and 1792 model years. The vehicle is highly original with an untouched interior and is equipped original jack and tools in the trunk. It also comes with some of its original sales literature. The vehicle runs and drives great and would be an excellent candidate for a mechanical restoration given its highly original paint and interior.
