Description of 1969 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 230

I bought this car from my neighbor about a year ago. although it had sentimental value to him, e finally realized that the car was going to disintegrate in his carriage house and decided to sell it. he looked at me as the prime candidate because i am a hobbyist and restore cars. the car sat for 15 years and the motor was stuck i did what was necessary to free the motor which included removing the head and soaking and cleaning everything. after getting it free of course i changed all the fluid, ilters, tc. i then replaced the carburetors (Weber conversion) battery, rake shoes, rake hoses, ater pump, tarter, he air pump on the engine s out of play as it was stuck. and i removed the a/c compressor. i repaired rusted areas, ower quarter and headlight buckets. the floors and rockers on the car are in very good condition i painted the car the original color (grey-beige) I managed to get the car running well stopping and going fine. it was only after i put it on the road that i found out the transmission makes a whining noise and would not shift until it is up to temperature. after that it shifts fine. so the bottom line is i did a lot of work to the car but i guess it needs a lot more i am not big into Mercedes i just love all old cars. i thought it would be a good car for my 18 year old son, ut at this point i would sell it for only the money into it and let someone else play. if not i will continue with it. i think the car is worth the effort it has a very nice interior, ery presentable solid car. If interested please dont hesitate to call 845-590-1076 for in depth conversation about the car. Exhaust system and tires were going to be my next move. the tires have good tread but are old and the exhaust system is temporarily patched up.The horn, ight, ipers etc all work fine but the heater fan is stuck. The car passed NY safety inspection last fall. The original zenith carbs that were removed along with other parts that I removed or replaced will go with the car, long with repair manual. My low start price is based on just the money I've spenton parts. The car is being sold as is needing work.
