1990 Mercedes 190E 2. 6 – A Modern ClassicPRICE REDUCED!!! For sale is my white 1990 Mercedes 190E 2. 6 with 177. 64 miles. that I had hoped to bring back to its former glory. The car runs well and has been used for local trips over the past year or so since I acquired it. Unlike the person I bought it from. I will try to be as honest and up front as possible on the condition of the car. I am not a mechanic. so my descriptions are based on my non-technical knowledge. Feel free to ask whatever questions come to mind. I have realized I just don’t have time for the car and hope it can find a home with someone that appreciates these great cars. It could be a daily driver for local trips. but I would not suggest extensive miles being piled on as it is now. I would drive it anywhere in it’s current state. Running condition: · The car starts and runs well. thought it has not been started for a few weeks and the battery is on a battery tender. The brakes seem okay and there is no problem stopping (no sounds. pulls or grinding to speak of) · When driving. it seems to shift okay. though does not seem quite right. It shifts quickly and then runs okay · The exhaust sounds fine · Wiper (yes this has a single wiper) works great. and window washers work as well. · There seems to be a noise from one of the front wheels that I would think could be a wheel bearing starting go bad. but again. I am not sure · The alignment is fine. though the steering wheel is a bit off center · It could use two new front tires. the rear tires seem okay. Interior · Overall it is pretty good. I have put tape over tears on the driver’s seat and the passenger front door (see photos. it is the black tape). · The headliner is not sagging and pretty clean overall. · The driver’s door power window works. the others work sometimes. and sometimes not. Switches are there all of them. though as you can see in the photos. one has fallen through the console and a couple are broken · The console lamination is coming off · I cannot say if the A/C works or not. The center vents always blow cold and the side vents always blow hot. pretty much no matter what. The front defroster and blower fan work great. rear window defroster does not work · There is no radio Body and other items · The paint is okay though not very shiny anymore · There are a few spots of rust in usual MB spots. such as around the trunk emblem (see photos) · There is a dent on the rear driver’s-side door. mostly on the lower panel. The paint is not broken from the dent and it does not effect using the door at all · Passenger front lights sit a bit low from the hood (see photo) · Hood release works. though has a “homemade” release lever in the front grille · The pad on the underside of the hood is falling apart (see photo) · Rear seats are great · Car seems quite solid underneath from what my mechanic has told me for a 1990 in Iowa Overall it is a good car. and with some TLC. time and ability. it could be a great car. MB has labeled these cars true modern classics and most magazines say the 2. 6 is a great choice. Please ask any questions and I will answer honestly.
