Up for auction is this great looking and driving 1974 450SL. Badged as a 500SL on the trunk. but the correct badge comes with the car. I'm selling this for an older gentleman who is a collector of classic cars and thinning out his stable. as he has no time to enjoy what all he owns. (He wanted it to be a 500sl. ) The vehicle has been on a non op for a long time and stored inside his garage in Riverside California. Clear California title present. ready to register or ship overseas. The car has just received a tune-up. fuel filter. oil and filter changed. new cap. new rotor. wires. spark plugs. coil and points have been installed. Fuel injector hoses and fuel delivery hoses have been replaced with German braided hose. The engine has been set to correct timing and runs strong. The car drives good. has full power. The tires on the great condition chrome staggered wheels in the photographs are the old Michelins which have since been replaced with a set of excellent quality Pirelli's. (These photo's were taken last year when it did not meet the reserve on Ebay. A replacement driver side mirror has since been installed as well. as the old one was broken. and the rather odd looking antenna has been removed) The hard and soft top are both in great shape for the age. Not sure how or why I forgot to take a photo with the top down. but it obviously works as the canvas top comes up. I may be able to take a photo later this week when I'm back at the car. (you really need 2 people to take the hard top off) Interior is in good shape as well. Comes with original Mercedes tool kit. More photo's upon request. This is a great looking powerful and fun driver. with a good shiny. but not perfect paint job. Very few minor scratches and blemishes can be found. as it's an older paint job but overall it's in amazing shape. The one scrape on the passenger fender that's visible in the photo's could be repaired by any paint shop. as the paint code with which the car was painted is present. (The can is still in the trunk) However. I wouldn't bother as the car turns heads whenever it's driven. Which. frankly. isn't very far or often. as it's on a non-op. Condition of A/C system and cruise control have not been tested. The gas gauge does not work due to a faulty sender and a good tested used one will be included in the sale. No smog ever. International shipping possible. will assist in transport to the agent of your choice. Most of them are in Paramount and delivery there will be $250.
