Description of 1988 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class |
I inherited this car from my Father and he purchased it from the original owner in 1994 with 113,046 miles. It has been garage kept until the last 3 years, either in Raleigh North Carolina or Northern Virginia and was never driven winter. I have service receipts from 1994 to present. No traffic accidents or rust ever, DOCUMENTED Replaced items: Tires, Diehard battery, converted to new factory euro headlights, all hoses, all belts, water pump, front engine oil seal, timing chain and rails, fuel injectors and seals, vacuum lines, engine mounts, rebuilt transmission and at the same time, the rear engine seal, transmission mount, flex disc, center drive shaft bearing, misc. weather stripping and seals, genuine Mercedes interior wind-deflector, fuel pump relay, new factory dash board, mono valve, R134 air condition conversion, radiator and coolant expansion and thermostat, tank, rebuilt front suspension with sub frame mounts, distributor cap, rotor and wires and plugs, wheel bearings, ABS sensors, all fuses and bulbs, windshield, I'm sure there's more. . . Non stock items: Recaro seats, matching burl cup holders mounted in console tray. I have the original seats(I'm 6'1 and didn't fit)they are in great shape with no tears but not nearly as comfortable as the Recaros. Replaced radio, I have original Becker. Over all condition "good" no dents, the original paint shines however the top of the trunk has a couple spots where the paint has thinned. no cracks in the dash or leather steering wheel, runs great, however the A/C needs a recharge. I just moved to Boca Raton FL and no longer have room for this car which is why I'm selling, otherwise I would take advantage of the projected appreciation. See for yourself on the Hagerty website. Feel free to make an offer. All W107 Models will need the above mentioned items replaced due to age and miles(the replacement cycle occurs every 20 to 25 years and or the first 125k to 150k miles). |
