Description of 1961 Mercedes-Benz 190-Series |
This car was my daily driver for 3 years and ran strong but currently the car is stuck in second gear and is on a California Non-Op Certificate. Zero rust. Only the first few dozen W110s built in 1961 had the Ponton turn signals, Extremely Rare Prototyp, you will not find one earlier than this. Bought new from the factory by a California couple in 1961, they participated in tourist rallies all over Europe and even Africa before shipping the car home, the grille badges tell quite a story. -Andorra-Vatican-Corsica-Spain-Tunisia-Monaco Sadly, all records of these adventures were lost, the husband passed away in the 90s and the wife suffered from dementia. Car has been in California since the 60's. Blue plates. Original paint, but the California sun has made the gloss into flat, A very unique survivor !Continuously registered and driven since 1961, only recently parked.I hate to see it sitting and want to see it restored. Its about as original as it gets and was a great driver for me, handled amazing,.. Low reserve !Questions? 707 413 3103 -Scott |
