Up for auction is our original 1959 Mercedes 220S. This car has spent a majority of its life in a garage in NY. The car had been off the road since 1978. When we got the car we drained the fuel, rebuilt the dual carburetors, replaced the rubber fuel hoses, fuel pump and fuel filter. The master cylinder is brand new and the linings are fresh, wheel cylinders rebuilt, and new brake hoses installed. The water pump and drive belt is new and all cooling hoses have been replaced. The ignition system is similarly overhauled with new points, cap, rotor, wire set, coil and plugs. The tires have been updated with modern radials on 14" Mercedes wheels (original 13" wheels included) The body is VERY SOLID having been out of the elements for decades. There have been no illegitimate previous repairs to the chassis or body. This ponton retains about 75% of its original paint 57 years later. The silver trim on the vehicle, some of which is anodized aluminum, is still very bright and like new. There is virtually no rot on the underside of this vehicle!! If your reading this ad then you already know that these ponton sedans rot to the ground and break in half!! All doors and lids operate like new as do the windows. The glass is also in exceptional condition with no delamination or fogging. The interior is 100% original, correct, and complete with no modifications or alterations. The original leather is still soft and pliable and has been cleaned and treated. The roof liner is intact and all floor linings are there. The interior light still works when you open the door. The speedometer functions smoothly and the oil pressure gauge works as well. We have two sets of keys and a title. Any questions please call (609) 397-3267. Thanks
