Description of 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series |
Needs: It's a great car, but not perfect. It has some door dings and minor scratches, but when waxed shines and turns heads. Interior isn't perfect, but in very good shape. There is a very small tear on the rear bench seat. Rear windows need to be looked at sometimes they go up and down and sometimes not. The sunroof needs a new belt. And, sometimes the transmission shifts hard in 3rd gear which is typical for these cars because it is vacuum controlled. I have had 2 transmission shops drive it and they both say all of these cars shift like this. Anyway, I have the newly redesigned vacuum control module from Mercedes that will make it shift easier, but it needs to be professionally install it. If you purchase the car you must have it done by a professional these are not easy to put in. If you let off the pedal before it shifts (rock the boat) it shifts easily. I've driven it a lot this year and it's been awesome, but I have inherited a '65 Karmann Ghia with another one on the way. I already own 4 cars and really do not like this. I would not hesitate to run across the country and back in this car 10x over and will be sad to see it go. I'ts great on fuel, very safe, very dependable, too. Recent Work: New Rear Bumper - the old one was horrible New Headlights A/C fixed and charged New Control Arms New Tail lights New Shocks and Struts New Floor Mats Rebuilt Fuel Injector Pump Recent oil change - good for 10K miles New pioneer radio (white light)Dash wood |
