This classic Mercedes roadster retains its original configuration, character, and charm, and is the perfect vintage roadster for showing, driving, and admiring. These W113 Chassis Mercedes SL values are currently on the rise and this is a great opportunity to add an outstanding, fully restored example to your garage. The Mercedes-Benz 280sl (model W113) is a two-seat roadster/coupe, introduced in 1968, and produced from 1968 through 1971. It replaced the 250 SL. Of the 23,885 W113 280 SLs produced, more than half were sold in the US. The bonnet, trunk lid, door skins and tonneau cover were made of aluminum to reduce weight. The comparatively short and wide chassis, combined with an excellent suspension, powerful brakes, and radial tires gave the W 113 superb handling for its time. The styling of the front, with its characteristic upright headlights and simple chrome grille, dominated by the large three-pointed star in the nose panel, paid homage to the then already legendary 300 SL roadster.
