Description of 1939 Mercedes-Benz Other |
| This unique vehicle was professionally built in So. Cal. It was designed after a thirty's Mercedes Phaeton similar to the Excalibur. However. the entire body is steel. It is comprised of a stretched late 50s Corvette chassis with many of the suspension parts chrome plated. The engine is a Chevy 327 V-8 with a Holly carburetor and the trans is a 400 turbo hydro automatic. Power brakes are also featured. The vehicle was built in the eighties for the show and cruise scene but has only 20 miles on it since new. It has been stored for 25 years. It runs great and all of the gauges work as designed. Due to it's age. the wire wheels are showing some pitting and the tires. although they look new. should be replaced for safety. Also included with the purchase is a pair of spare mounted mirrors and a set of bare side curtain frames. I reserve the right to cancel this listing at any time because the vehicle is for sale locally. |
