One of the most iconic cars for its design and engineering is the Mercedes 600. During the opulent times of the 1960s and 1970s Mercedes decided to produce a car that would surpass anything that was made in its day both in its overall size and engineering. The Mercedes 600 short-wheel-base sedan (not very short-wheel-based) was the end product. Most people are unaware of the many features on this car from an engineering point of view. The six-liter engine and its enormous power is well known but how many people know that the doors close hydraulically. That is correct. you do not slam the doors on a Mercedes 600 you just close it and as the door touches the lock the suction closes the door. The seller is the SECOND OWNER of the car. The original owner was William Joseph "Bill" Bell (Mar 06. 1927 - Apr 29. 2005) who was an American screenwriter and television producer. best known as the creator of the soap operas Another World. The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. His wife was Lee Phillip Bell. a former talk show host. The seller has owned the car for 35 years. This is the European version model which does not have a console in the front seat and it also features cloth upholstery interior. The paint is original except for the right front fender. it was in a minor fender bender many years ago and at that time the seller also changed the headlights from European headlights to American headlights. In the back seat are radio controls for the passenger to tune the radio when being chauffeur driven. This feature is not connected and the seller is not aware of whether the controls work. The temperature gauge is not currently working. The back seat window on the driver's side needs a contact adjustment.
