Description of 1979 Mercedes-Benz 400-Series --

Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL, Beautiful Condition, mileage just at 100K
Offered for sale is my 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL in excellent condition with 100,XXX miles. The car is in fine working condition and has been maintained exceedingly well. This was a one owner car when I purchased it less than a year ago. I have taken the car to a few car shows and have enjoyed it, but will part with it now to move on to some other projects that will need some precious garage space.

I have made a few modest improvements to the car in the time I've had it. These include: New tires, new hood pad, new battery, A/C converted to new refrigerant, and a bit of detailing under the hood to get it ready for some local car shows.
Pros: The car starts reliably, runs reliably, has a lot of power, and is very comfortable as a cruiser. The A/C blows cold. I would not hesitate to take the car on a cross-country trip with my family. I drove it from Houston to Austin and back (400 miles) recently and it performed wonderfully. The interior is flawless with thick leather seats that look and smell like new. The interior wood is also in perfect condition. The sunroof opens and closes as though it were new. There are no dents or dings... none. This is a Texas car with zero rust. I have a blue title in hand and current inspection sticker on the car.
Cons: The only noteworthy flaws are a non-working radio and a front windshield gasket in need of attention. The automatic antenna also appears to be non-operational.

The History of this Legendary 450 SEL
This is a true "Survivor" Mercedes and a fine representation of the 450 SEL which was the flagship of the Mercedes-Benz luxury sedan line from 1972 to 1979. These automobiles were the first Mercedes-Benz models to be officially called S-Class, for Sonderklasse or "special class." This was the first Mercedes saloon to feature the brand new corporate styling theme which was to be continued until 1993 when the 190 was discontinued. The design, was a dramatic leap forward, with more masculine lines that combined to create an elegant and sporty character.
Other notable features: Power Windows, Sun Roof, Original Factory Leather Interior, Bosh K-Jetonic Fuel Injection. Assembly: Sindelfingen, West Germany. Designer: Friedrich Geiger, Engine: 4.5 liter V8
Thank you and good luck in your bidding!
