Description of 1970 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 220d

Here is a low miles 1970 Mercedes-Benz 220d, the vehicle has been with me for a long time. The previous owner was a gentleman who purchased It brand new from bobs Mercedes north of San Jose. He had taken good care of it through the years he had owned it. I knew the gentlemen and I Purchased the vehicle because at the time I knew It had so much potential and it still does. This car has had the oem diesel Om615 Replaced In it because the previous owners son had driven it and completely obliterated the drive train. The Engine and trans were over hauled by Mercedes dealership right after I had purchased it from the man. I have only used this vehicle to mainly drive around on the weekends. The interior is very much intact and well maintained for being a 46 year old car. The tires are semi new with plenty of tread on them, The most desirable option On this 220d is the 4-speed manual transmission on the column because many of these Mercedes were automatic or manual on the floor, this is uncommon to see on a 220d. The vehicle does not have a rear defroster, which is a headache toi deall with. The A/C compressor had been removed by the dealership when the previous owner had the new engine installed. I have had replaced the following replaced brake lines battery, oil filter, bulbs. clutch slave cylinder, transmission mount, shifter bushings and coolant had been recently flushed. I always had the oil changed by a Mercedes dealer and any mechanical work that was necessary also. The rear passenger side had been hit by a another driver this occurred before i had possession of the car my intentions were to fix it but my plans changed and I was also interested in lowering it and possibly leaving the patina look. This car can go cross countryif anyone really wanted to. If anyone has any questions let me know I will be glad to give you a answer.
