Description of 1991 Mercedes-Benz 500-Series Base Convertible 2-Door

Mercedes-Benz 500SL 1991 with a respectable 160k miles, which is only about 6000 miles per year.
This car has clearly never been driven in salt and has never been in an accident.The wear is fair for the age and I would rate the overall car to be in exceptional condition.Paintwork has great shine and only chips from driving. The front bumper has fresh paint and as such is chip free.
Functionally the car is great. Motor is very strong and does not burn oil nor leak oil. The transmission was replaced with an 85k mile unit. The previous transmission's only fault was slipping in reverse so this replacement unit will give years of service. Tires are good all round and the same brand and size. The rims are in good condition too.
The roof hydraulic system was serviced with fresh fluid and a rebuild of 8 of the locking mechanisms. No matter what the mileage of the car, these seals break down with age so that is in order on this car.

The car still has the original tool kit, first aid kit, owners handbook, service book and keys.
The factory hardtop is included and has had a fresh headliner installed.
While the car has more miles than many for sale, it runs as well and using these cars does them good.
I am a mature owner after the former run of mature owners and always wanted one of these SL's. The refinement of the V8 is amazing and I have enjoyed a couple seasons with the car but am ready to move it on as I need to make space in my collection for the next car.
