1987 MERCEDES BENZ 560SL-$37,500Superb survivor with just 28,500 miles from new. Finished in Signal Red with Tan Leather interior and black canvas soft top and removable red hard top. VIN: WDBBA48D4HA073106. Florida car sold new on 1/27/88 in Vero Beach where it was titled by 1st owner. On 3/30/88, the car was sold to an Orange Park, FL owner with 3,155 miles. On 12/3/1992, it was sold to long time owners Joseph & Lucy Cuda of Jacksonville, FL. We have original window sticker that shows car cost $60,880 new. The original Maintenance Booklet shows regular services done on the car in the first few years of ownership. As your review the CARFAX, it appears as though Mr. & Mrs. Cuda owned the car from 1992 through 2013. The car had a major service in 2004 and 2007 from Brumos Motor Cars in Jacksonville at 25,362 miles. At the time, front brake pads were replaced, oil and filter changed, radio replaced, refrigerant added for leark, shift linkage repaired, transmission replaced. In 2007, Brumos--a Mercedes specialist shop--did another service including alignment, antenna repair, antifreeze/coolant flushed, battery replaced, coolant temp sensor replaced, drive belts replaced, electrical system checked, exterior trim repaired, throttle position sensor replaced, and washer nozzle replaced. Since then, the car has been driven less than 3000 miles. Here's some history on the 560SL: "In 1986, Mercedes-Benz shipped its most powerful SL of the decade to the U.S. in the 560SL. The car was also the heaviest of the 1971-89 R107 SLs that Mercedes produced, but the new 5.5-liter V-8 engine's 227 hp did a fine job of mitigating that fact. Top speed was much improved (from 110 mph in the 380SL to 130 mph), and the car was quicker from a standstill to 60 mph by about 4 full seconds. The engine was much torquier, too, which greatly improved the cars' dynamics. Likewise, the car received a new rear suspension and a limited-slip differential to better handle the added torque and power. Mercedes-Benz also added anti-lock brakes, leather upholstery, an alarm system, and an air bag, all of which better suited the car's $48,000 price tag. The 560SL sold well with average annual sales exceeding 12,000 units, which outpaced the 450SL and 380SL. Nonetheless, Mercedes retired the R107 chassis in 1990, introducing the first all-new SL in 18 years. Today, many enthusiasts gravitate towards the 560SL as it retains some of the original lines of the pagoda SLs while carrying with it all of the R107's advances." VITALS
