Description of 1982 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series

This classic 1982 Mercedes 240D has been garage-kept all of her life and is beautiful in both appearance and mechanical running condition. This chassis is also known as the w123 body style and the 240 D series has often been referred to as the most dependable Mercedes ever made. Her preservation state shows the loving treatment she has received over the years. The oil and oil filter have just been changed less than 1. 00 miles ago with Mobil 1 Delvac 5W-40 which is a diesel-rated oil. The preferred automatic transmission shifts just as she should through all the gears and is smooth and reliable. The quiet yet peppy four-cylinder diesel motor is the original motor to the vehicle with only 138. 12 original miles and there are many dependable miles left to enjoy this sedan. Turn the key once and the amber glow plug light will come on. After a couple of seconds the light will go off and with a touch of the key in the second position the motor easily starts with the sound of a finely-tuned diesel. There is no noticeable diesel fumes from the engine which means that it is running efficiently and properly and it will consistently deliver 28 - 32 mpg. All maintenance has been done on schedule and the valves have just been adjusted as required for these diesel engines to run with maximum efficiency. Both diesel fuel filters (main and pre-filter) changed within the last fifty-miles. The motor cranks easily and quickly regardless of the outside temperature. The oil pressure is always high . the operating temperature is and always has been right where is should be and the battery gauge shows that the alternator is working just fine. There are almost new Michelin tires all the way around and new brake lines recently replaced with stainless steel materials. The AutoCheck score of 50 is well above the AutoCheck recommended Score of 15 - 36. The vehicle checks out in all of the AutoCheck categories including Clean Title and no other issues. Her original mileage on the original engine is low being at 138. 12. The interior is a tan (light brown) and is in fine condition. The drivers seat which is the first to show wear on such a classic automobile has little to no wear at all (the protective seat covers have been pulled up to illustrate). The remainder of the interior is likewise very attractive with the headliner. door panels and other seats being practically perfect with the signature Mercedes leather aroma evident upon entry. The manual windows are in crystal-clear condition and all roll up and down with ease. The trunk compartment is very clean and does have the original jack. original spare tire and wheel and a nice trunk mat. The original Becker radio is included for the purist but a Sony MP3 CD stereo system is in the car now. We could have traded this car when we bought the our new car but we would like for this special care to go to someone who will appreciate and enjoy her as much as we have. While there many be other 240D's for sale many appear to have deferred maintenance. some components don't work or don't work properly. some may have replaced engines and some appear to have been neglected. We feel like we have priced the reserve fairly and this is the perfect opportunity to own a classic Mercedes 240D which has been beautifully-preserved as a true antique car that can be bought. driven and enjoyed right away.
