Description of 1972 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 300SEL 6.3 |
1972 Mercedes Benz 300SEL 6.3 Project - EMAIL ME FOR A LINK TO 100+ pictures of the car - This is a very late production 300SEL 6.3 number 6140 that came from the factory in 717G Papyrus white paint. It is not a complete car and will require large amounts of work to finish, however it is a fairly solid candidate for restoration. This is a project that was started in the late 90's and never completed. The engine was removed for rebuilding (engine not included with car), the front suspension was removed and rebuilt (new air valves, motor mounts, bushings and rebuilt brakes). Then the car was prepped for paint (new front fenders and put into primer). The trunk wells are completely solid, one side was redone (driver side). The rockers have some areas of rust through (see pics) but it still has structural strength and is not collapsing. The only serious rust is at the front of each rocker, more-so on the passenger side then the drivers. The passenger side of the body has a few dings from people moving things around it in storage, but overall the body is excellent besides showing a bit of surface rust in areas from improper storage. Please look at the pictures carefully to understand the cars condition. I tried to make note of all the major components that I have noticed are missing below. However, I may be missing some small items so please see pictures. If it is not included in the pictures or on my short list below ( of included but not pictured) of parts than it is most likely not with the car. The front fenders are simply resting on their and have not been bolted down, I will do this prior to transport as well as mounting the hood as well. The dash wood is surprisingly nice and appears redone. The wood around the doors is ok but could use refinishing. The upper dash pad is excellent. The leather is very nice on the passenger seat and rear seat but does have some small surface cracks and some areas of slight damage. The driver seat is original as well but does show wear and is a bit brittle. That has the worst splits and some smaller tears. The carpets in the car are aftermarket. The heater levers move freely and smoothly. Feel free to ask for specific pictures. Items not pictured but included: Drivers door ArmrestHoodtransmissionbumpersdriveshaft The main components that are missing: engine and ancillary items attached to itradiator and oil coolergrill star and baseone license plate lightAC knobs on dashantenna I have a clean title on hand. The car is located in Burien, Washington. If you have any questions feel free to email me or call five zero three eight zero three three eight nine nine and I will do my best to answer them. Non - Refundable deposit of $500 dollars due within 24 hours of sale. Full payment due within 7 days of sale. Buyer is responsible for shipping but I can suggest a few companies if needed. This car is NOT a runner so it will need to be flat bedded to a larger truck for transport. That is the responsibility of the buyer to arrange and pay for. |
