Description of 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series |
For auction here is a Mercedes Benz 300c adenauer US spec car featuring the 3 liter straight six cylinder engine which was the basis for the 300SL Gullwing coupe. This engine uses 2 carburetors. Paint is 2-tone silver and grey metallic that I dont believe came originally in this specification. Original red leather interior. very good carpet. CAR DOES NOT RUN. This vehicles has the engine removed as it looks as though someone tried to start it after years of sitting without changing the oil and old oil deposits made its way through the oil galleys damaging the engine bearings. This engine needs a basic rebuild. Everything is there that came with the motor. Does not include new parts to do the rebuild. Car uses the Borg Warner 3 speed automatic transmission. Includes the original Becker Mexico radio. Car looks to be mostly original particulatly the interior. Very nice wool headliner. This car would make a nice driver once the motor is rebuilt as its presents well for a 59 year old car It is an excellent example for a complete restoration. Body appears to be very solid with minimal rust. The car will be sold AS IS. Buyer is responsible for pick-up and shipping |
