This is a 1953 Mercedes Benz 220 sedan. Classic pre WWII styling with suicide front doors. Car had a full body off restoration in the late 1990s including a complete engine overhaul. Front suspension wasalso rebuilt withall new rubber bushings and some new links and stabilizers. Has only been driven a few hundred miles since the restoration. Actual mileage is unknown. Carburetor and fuel pump have been completely rebuilt within the last year again. Interior is very nice and appears to be original. Driveswell and transmission syncs and shifts smoothly. Ignition switchhas ceased to function (electrically)however still works as steering lock. Ignition on / off is currently with a toggle switch under the dash.Original radio appears to work, however it is the original European model and receives on bands which are not used here.Paint is good but not perfect. No rust.Original owner's manual still in the glove box. This car was originallyimported by a US service man, returning from duty in Germany at the end of his service there in the 1950's.Most parts are still available from antique MB specialists in Germany. Car is sold without warranty of any kind. This car is exactly as shown in a "Mercedes Classics" coffee table book which is available with the car.
