Coming to you this week is a beautiful 1991 Mercedes-Benz 420SEL sedan. It is a super clean example and is very solid and rust free showing its pampered life. The car was sold new in Rochester, NY in Auguest of 1991. At just 44k miles the car made its way down to Florida where it lived until the summer of last year. Recently, this SEL was living a pampered, garaged life in the Coachella Valley in Southern California. The car is an all original survivor and shows all the signs of really being cared for- even down to the near perfect Zebra wood trim! The body on the car is in very good condition and was extremely well maintained. The paint on the car is all original in striking Schwartz Black and is in overall good condition for its age and originality. The original paint on this SEL was just hand buffed and waxed to a beautiful shine. The car has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock as any well cared for garaged car should be, and has never been in any accidents. The car is riding on original Mercedes 15" alloys with very nice new Michelin tires. All chrome trim, glass, and rubber seals are in great shape.
The interior is all original condition all around. The supple gray seats are all in very good condition and look very nice, which shows the quality of material used in this car. The original carpets are all very nice and are not worn or damaged. All dials and controls function as they should, power windows and other accessories are fully functional and both front window regulators were just replaced and work awesome. The Becker Am/Fm system sounds great with the original sound system. All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they should. The trunk compartment is very clean and does have the original jack, the spare tire and wheel, and a brand new trunk mat. The trunk pan is solid and the inserts are still in nice shape.
Mechanically, this 420SEL runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. The 4.2L V8 engine is very quick and responsive. It is reliable, easy to fix, and parts are readily available. The suspension is very tight and feels solid even at autobahn speeds above 90mph. The car was always regularly serviced and the car was well cared for. The car just had the injectors and fuel pumps replaced while going through the fuel system and a full tune up! The A/C in this car is amazing and will freeze you out of the car! It is rare to find these cars preserved in this condition. The car will even include the original delivery brochure.
All in all, this is one of the neatest Mercedes that I have had the privilege of being associated with. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owners.
