Description of 1979 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 300CD |
1979 Mercedes 300 CD Diesel Coupe VIN: WDB12315012003001 Here’s another rare, great-running & driving diesel Mercedes we’ve acquired recently to offer you here on Ebay. I’ve got to tell you, having driven it several times a week for the past few months, what a treat! Where else will you find this kind of luxury, vintage style, safety, mechanical reliability AND economy wrapped up in one gorgeous ride? Please feel free to contact me with questions or to make an offer. My name is Mark and my direct number is206/914-1173 for either calls or text. You’re welcome and encouraged to make an appointment to inspect this nice coupe here at my Auburn, WA warehouse.
In total, this is a clean, well-cared-for, smoke-free car. I take pride in the vehicles we sell and feel that you should know as much about it as possible. Accordingly, here’s a list of the good and also small things needing attention: Turn the key, let the glow plugs heat for about 10 seconds and the strong diesel 3.0 inline five-cylinder engine fires right up every time! The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and just as it should. The car idles, runs and drives like a Mercedes is meant to – strong oil pressure, good battery and charging system, no overheating, no brake pull to either side or alignment issues! Please take a good look at the interior pics. Hop in and feel comfortable sitting on these firm front buckets for hours as the seat springs and leather upholstery are in excellent shape. There’s little to no wear on any seating surface. As you can see, the rear seat is just as nice. Included is a photo of the instrument cluster with the engine idling at 800 rpm. Note the excellent oil pressure as shown on the gauge. It’s quite unusual for the needle to remain above the “30” mark on any Mercedes while idling and typically only raises up to and maintains at “45” while actually driving. You couldn’t ask for it to be better! No issues with overheating either. The engine temp always stays between 150 to 175 degrees (centigrade). The speedometer works perfectly, but, as is the case on many of these vintage rigs, the odometer doesn’t and does not reflect actual miles. All four windows are electric and can be a little finicky. Same goes for the power sunroof. Truthfully, I’ve only opened it a few times and always help relieve strain on the cables and motor by helping pull it closed. It’s quite unusual to see (the very valuable) factory Becker stereo still in place. I discovered the speakers are there in the package shelf but will require new wire to connect them. The light yellow paint is in excellent condition having been re-sprayed to the factory original color. I find no rust bubbles (or exposed rust) on any of the fenders or around the wheel wells as you mighttypicallyexperience on cars from the mid-west or east coast. If theBenz continues to be garaged-kept the paintshouldremain excellent for many years to come. All four15-inch factory alloys are straight and true. They look great and all are wrapped with Yokohama “Avid” Touring radials with at least 60% remaining tread.
Please check the photos over closely and call me with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! You’re encouraged to stop by, inspect the car at my Auburn, Washington warehouse and take it for a test drive. As always, it is being sold “as-is, where-is” with a clean, free & clear Washington State title. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: Because of the amount of money involved with a vehicle purchase, I reserve the right to cancel your bid if you have any negative feedback. I also ask that potential bidders with a feedback rating of five or fewer transactions on eBay contact me before placing their bid. Please feel free to contact me directly thru eBay’s system or, as outlined above, call or text me at206/914-1173anytime. My name isMARK. The balance is due within seven business days unless prior arrangements have been made with me. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the vehicle later -- You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends. If you do decide to have theBenz shipped home, there are numerous vehicle transportcompanies to choose from. We deal with several regularly and can help make shipping recommendations. The zip code for pick-up would be 98002 (Auburn, Washington). The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER.
TheMercedes can be stored free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received. After that period storage is $20 per day. |
