- I began looking for a nice 80's SL last year and finally found this car in December after examiningseveral. I had been sitting for a while and had a fuel deliveryproblem. I bought the car and had it towed to All German Auto. They replaced both fuel pumps, the overload protection relay and re gluedthe hood insulator. We also an oil and filter change. I took the car home and began replacingsome cosmeticitems such as visor clip, door sill rubber, a few interior screws, etc. I was bringing the car back for a recommendedtune once the minor cosmetics were completed. From what I know items that require attentions are as follow: Driver side map pocket need to be replaced. Form insert is broken. The odometer stopped working recently but car has not been driven. The last accuratelydocumentedmileage that I can determinewas shown in an emissionstest at 130,620 in June 2015. It now has just over 131,000. The soft top has some tears. I would replace. I was going to have a dent guy come out to fix a few small dings in the body typicalof a car this age. Just wanted to make the car perfect. No rust or corrosion. This has been a garaged, California car. The dash is good but for a small crack that can't be seen in photos. I replaced a front headlight bezel that was cracked. I also installed a battery disconnect. Car runs and drive fine. Does idle a little high, hence the tune up I and the shop recommend. The car has records going back to it's birth! One of the records shows the transmissionwas R&R'd at 115,600 miles. The car looks to have been well cared for over the years! Many regular services. I love the car but we just bought another for my son to drive to school. I recommenda personal inspection to verify the condition. I have priced the car for a quick sale. Thanks and good luck!!
