Absolutely stunning low mile original 280SL. This 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL was sold new in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and reportedly remained with its original owner until 2002, when it was purchased out of the Nevada by the second owner. It was subsequently repainted and given a new soft top as well as undergoing further work totalingover $89k in service records. The car is equipped with a 2.8L inline-six, an automatic transmission, a matching factory hard top, and a period air conditioner. Now showing just over 40,300 miles, it is offered with a clean North Carolina title. The second owner had the car repainted in itscurrent beige metallic during his ownership. The included hard top is finished to match the body and a rolling hard top stand is included in the sale. A new dark brown soft top was installed during the repaint. Steel wheels wear polished and color-matched covers and are mounted with Uniroyal Tiger Paw whitewalls. A Becker Europa radio is retained in the dash along with factory VDO gauges and climate controls, and a period Frigiking air conditioning unit is mounted beneath. Approximately 40,300 miles are shown on the odometer. The 2.8L inline-six is paired with a floor-shifted automatic transmission.
