Description of 1990 Mercedes-Benz S-Class 4-door

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO READ:
This beautiful car yesterday, just 2 hours before auction ending, with an aggressive bidder winning it, he claimed he DID NOT KNOW the mileage was over 67K, and that it was not stated in the listing and he found it by himself...etc! Not man enough to say changing his mind!! I had to get eBay involved and instructed them to CANCEL ALL HIS BIDS, blocked his bids, bringing the price down to my reserve amount, which was met by another buyer, before the aggressive irresponsible buyer started playing his computer games with eBay! The next high bidder also claimed his principle would not allow him to buy it at his high bid, which was my reserve, HIS OWN FREE COMMITMENT!! ...Please, PLEASE be serious, respect and honor your own figures on my listing! Thank you! It is HIGHLY UNETHICAL to play with other people's honest life and activities!!An awful experience!...... Now, my car:
FIRST: I bought this very attractive 560 SEL in early June last year from a dealer in Phoenix AZ who mainly dealt in exotic cars and had bought this car from California for his own personal usage (as he said he had taken his first date on another SEL just like this, a memory for him!) After a year of driving, he "got tired" of it and decided to sell it. And I was looking exactly for this vehicle, a white on white 560 in pristine condition, which is what this SEL is! ... About the same time I also bought 2 other S class on eBay from other states, all classics and all in great condition, as I do not like to restore cars, no knowledge and patience! I live overseas and visit my home only once a year and theoretically i do not need a car here, but I am a car enthusiast and especially a Mercedes lover! Right after I bought the 3 Benz, I left the country, and I am back now for 3 weeks! I drove this SEL and the other 2 only for a few minutes as of curiosity and then parked all three in a storage facility specialized in storing classics and antiques, and I covered all three, batteries disconnected! Upon return, last Monday I got all 3 started right away! ..... I sold one SEL yesterday on eBay, and am listing this 560 and another 280 S today! As I had indicated on my other postings, I do not possess enough energy and enthusiasm to keep up with my toys ( I am 69years "young"!), and keeping these toys garaged and insured not only is costly for me, but also occupy my mind and realistically not smart, only because of driving them only a few times a year! Then why did I buy them to begin with?! Temptations, car lover, all in a spare of a moment, within a few days on a buying spree!! I am a very small time collector, not a dealer and only buy what I love to have and have thought about for a long time, very very picky and with sharp eyes!... No more stories, but you needed to know a little history, just as I wanted to know more!
I am going to just copy what the previous owner, who drove it for a year, wrote on his listing on eBay, saves me time, and it is much more accurate than my words! This car is very very tight and extremely well taken care of. By the way, all the pictures I have posted here are also the photos he had posted on eBay last year, they were taken well and in detail, I like them all. Whatever you see on these pictures are exactly the same way the 560 is, no surprises, other then appreciating more when you touch and feel and drive it! Here are his writings: ...... " Dry climate California car its whole life, no accidents, not a spec of rust on this car ever! Factory white with beige leather in pristine condition, power seats, power windows and locks, AC blowing cold, sunroof all work correctly Both interior and exterior paint show like new, a very clean car, no scratches, no dents, no dings, no tears, no cracks on dash.. she is very clean. A/C blows ice cold, odometer shows 67K miles, BUT, there is a discrepancy on Auto Check indicating a service performed at about 151 K miles in 2014, review the Auto Check report for free here!. Even at 151K or 180K mile, if you know about Mercedes Benz, and especially these high powered 560s engines, you would never worry about any high miles, as their life span is extremely long, especially while they are so well taken care of, like this one, The previous owners could NOT have abused the engine while having pampered the vehicle like this! The car runs and drives exceptionally well and strong, having just been serviced by a local Mercedes Benz independent shop, receipts included, new rear tires. This classic is an exceptional example of a legendary muscled V8 560 Mercedes engineering, in excellent original condition! It needs absolutely nothing, to be enjoyed immediately! ...."
I must add, all doors open and close effortlessly and tight, cornering and suspension is tight, engine is smooth and quiet, brakes are great, no unusual and unwanted noises, windows and the rest of the options work as they should. If I had kept the car, I would have changed the front tires, not needed right away, but with this great condition, I would want everything to match! On my way to the storage place, I noticed it hesitated to go from the second gear to third in the beginning, but after about 5 minutes, no issues, shifted smoothly. Although color is the matter of personal choice, but I LOVE this color combination, matches the long wheel base body of this car extreme;y well! This car, like my 2 S class, would only GO UP in value, if kept and maintained properly. I would only give credit to the previous owner, and also the dealer, having kept it in such a great condition. I feel sorry to depart from each of these 3, but have no regrets owning them and thinking for a year, while away from the States, about them and just enjoy the feeling of having what I always loved to have, ,, You, the new buyer/owner, hopefully will keep it for good!
Some legal stuff which I hate to even think about: Remember, no second hand vehicle is new!! So any time you buy a used car, expect issues, regardless of the age! That is a fact and what I told my sons and everybody else, including myself. I have described this attractive SEL to the best of my knowledge and observation, that is my part! For you, use your own experience in cars, your guts and judgment by looking at the photos carefully and reading all my information carefully, BEFORE BIDDING! ... Please remember my "young age" and my limited time staying in our beautiful country, so, PLEASE do NOT PLAY Atari with these "toys for big boys", respect the seller, eBay, and yourself! Bidding on eBay cars is just like and committing yourself on a contract! Have more questions? Please ask. Need to inspect the car?
