Description of 1988 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class |
This Arctic White over Royal Blue 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560sl was sold new in Indiana where it has remained till now. It has been well maintained and documented with the factory maintenance booklet and invoices included with the sale. This is an honest driver with 86k miles, and an excellent example of the last of the R107 model. Put simply, it's amazing to drive! Power is from 5.6 liter m117 V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Rated at 227hp/287 ft-lbs of torque with power delivered through a factory limited slip differential, this vehicle can do long distances on long stretches of highway or indulge in windy country roads. The automatic climate control is in good working order, and the system has been converted to work with the better R134 refrigerant. The interior remains comfortable even when the outside temperature is less than ideal. Vehicle history shows no accidents, and all VIN stickers are present on factory panels. The exterior finish shows very well with few blemishes of note. All wheels, including the spare, are blemish free and maintain their original finish. All of the brightwork on the vehicle shines with little to no pitting. The vast blue interior shows well, with little evidence of wear. Some wear in color is present in the driver's seat-back bolster. The dash top is original, crack-free, and vibrant in color. The burlwood interior accents are nearly blemish-free with two slight cracks in the finish near the window switches. A pioneer head unit replaces the factory unit and has Bluetooth capability. The factory Becker unit is included, though it's operation is unknown. Factory steel hardtop is included with its stand. It has two dime-sized spots on the hardroof where the paint has worn through. This is believed to have been from previous storage. All seals are in order and no leaks occur when installed. The soft top is original to the vehicle and the fabric presents no holes or wear. A one and half inch crack in the driver rear plastic is noted and has been patched with a vinyl patch and is not very noticeable. Photos of the undercarriage are provided and no rust is present on the underbody. There is surface rust present on some of the exhaust and heat shield though that is the extent of it. The exhaust remains quiet and routes to the rear of the vehicle as intended. Factory manuals, tags, radio, tool set, and soft top handles are all present. If you require other photos, videos or have questions please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to meet your request in a timely manner. Buyer is responsible for transportation. If you will be flying into Indianapolis, pick up could be arranged. No paypal, personal checks, or escrow services will be accepted. Once auction is complete, a $1000 deposit will be required via cashier's check. A full payment is expected for the title to be released. A photocopy can be provided prior to full payment. Please have funds secured prior to bidding, as loans can be difficult to obtain on a classic car. This is an as-is sale and no warranty is implied or given. A clean title is in hand with no lein attached. I do not need help listing this vehicle. Thank you for looking and bidding! |
