Description of 1976 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series E Class

Up for sale is my 1976 w114 w115 Mercedes Benz Stroke 8. Its a 280GAS carburatedcar with the extremely rare straight six M110 DOHC engine. (same engines found in 280SL). The car is originally from California and shows it with no rust to the body. It has been maintained properly through out the years and I have said records. I bought it from an elderly man who was getting too old to drive it. Even though this is a daily driver and Ihave dumped money in upgrades in it,I am moving on to other projects and do not have time to complete this one. I will go through the entire as I'm transparent on ebay and my actual feedback reflects that.

UPGRADES:

$5000- Satin Frozen Vanilla wrap by 3M. Trim work, headlights, taillights, bumpers etc were removed and entire car was wrapped in that satin pearl white color. Underneath body is grey.Top has been wrapped in gloss black, with satin black ghost racing stripe.Wrapped gloss black wood trim.

$1500- completely refurbished polished out and powder coated original BBS RG wheels wrapped in brand new Toyo Proxie tires

$300 -brand new Ceiling Liner in bone white (needs to be replaced)

$500- European Headlights fixed with HID bulbs and ballasts. Yellow fog tint.

$2000 -European bumper PLUS had a welder weld in metal adapters to fit to my 76 body

$250 -dark pigmented clear coated tail lights and markers

$450- brand new grey carpet & installed

$175 power antenna for radio

MECHANICAL:

She starts right up and takes a couple minutes to get to normal idle as all carbureted cars do. Never an issue. I had an entire tune up with all filters replaced, oilspark plugs etc.Transmission shifts just like this car should. Engine is extremely strong with no internal issues. There is a vacuum leak somewhere in the system that should be addressed. why- gradually accelerating its perfect, but hitting the gas hard accelerating at a high speed it gives back a little. If a particular deal is come to, I'm able to get it fixed as it is not a major issue at all. Brakes are perfectly fine and stop on a dime. Had exhaust leaks repaired. Engine has been maintained properly. AC works great and compressor is fine but Heat does not work. It needs an Expansion valve I was told. Yes it is behind the dash.I had 3 coils cut off the springs. There are about 12 coils in total, so its not some crazy bumpy ride.Car steers fine even with lowering and the ride is not bumpy at all.

BODY:

Before wrapping the car, it had 0 rust and still doesn't. Wrap & bodyare perfect with no dents dings or scratches. No rot on doors or jambs as you can see in the pics. Front windshield has a small crack. from and rear shields should have seals replaces along with trunk. I purchased a new aftermarket trunk seal and it was a waste of my money. Bumpers are in great shape physically but should be could be rechromed if you are looking for perfection. Wheels and tires are absolutely perfect. Rest of Chrome on the grill surround, headlights etc. is in 9/10 condition.

INTERIOR:

Well I had the idea of changing the entire interior and dash into black with white diamond stitching, but ran out of time on this project. That being saidyou can see the overall condition of the seats. Some are perfect and some have rips and patches. doors are in pretty decent shape. center console all the same. Vents work, radio works but temperamental as they are of this age. allpower windows work but rear pass.Seems it needs a switch. All woodis in decent shape underneath gloss black wrap.
