Description of 1979 Mercedes-Benz 400-Series |
Black 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450slc with black leather interior VIN: 10702412026374 Mileage: 153,026 This beautiful R107 series 450 slc Mercedes was made in Germany and purchased by my father in 1980 who passed it to me a couple of years ago. This car is a real head turner; people comment on its beauty all the time. The car is very rare- it has: a retracting solid sunroof that works fine and does not leak and, it has its original Mercedes chromed spoked wheels- something I am not seeing in other 450s of this vintage. The images in this ad were taken about a 2months ago, before I waxed the car. After the waxing, the car looked noticeably better. Nearly everything works on it fine, like all interior lights, engine, transmission, breaks etc.; the car is drive regularly- though I own 4 cars and have only 2 drivers, so it's not driven frequently. The AC does not work, and the power antenna does not go up and down. I leave it in the up position. And the cruise control works sometimes; I think when work was done on the car, it was reconnected improperly. That’s about all the bad news I can think of. Regarding the AC: I don't know how much it would cost to fix, but lots of new, used, and rebuilt parts are available at good prices for this car, here isan AC compressor with drier for $425: I had a local shop reupholster the front seats with new matching leather. The white spot on the driver's seat is a fluffy seed that floated in there while the door was open. The seats in the back and frontare in100% prefectcondition. The body and paint are in excellent condition in my opinion. I replaced the front & back speakers and the radio, and was able to connect it so the original front/back fader button still works; and I have the original radio (included, which works). I also have a second driver seat that you can have if you want it, and a few other parts. I see cars like this going for between $7,000 and $17,000, and I have received an offer from a dealer for $7,000. So I have set the starting bit at $7,000 with a buy it now at $9,800 |
