Description of 1980 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Roadster/Coup

For Sale by Owner is a Very Nice 1980 Mercedes-Benz 450SL Coupe/Roadster Convertible.

This is a great weekend cruiser to enjoy the fresh air. Add a little style when going out to dinner or visiting the classic car show. This car will get you noticed. This is a great car and I am only selling because I don't drive it as much as I should and I feel a new curator would give this collector more life.

91,3XX miles on the 8 cylinder 4.5L engine.
Brown Metallic with original Brown Leather interior in good condition.
This is a very nice R107 450SL 2-seat with removable hard top with a clear title and insured as a classic car with American Collectors Insurance. VIN: 10704412059340

Asking price is $15,500

NADA Guide lists High Retail at $42,200.00; Average Retail at $26,700.00; Low Retail at $14,200.00.

The $16,500.00 negotiable asking price is closer to the low retail price because there are some minor cosmetic blemishes with the interior and exterior that could use some refreshing. Engine is just about due for a tune-up.

Starts and runs strong and just had the oil changed with a mechanical inspection. Like new tire treat and shiny wheels. Original wheels are boxed and will come with the vehicle along with the hardtop caddy, covers, and hoist system for hardtop installation and removal.

Options:

4 Speed Automatic

Air Conditioning

Power Windows

Cruise Control (accelerates but does not hold the speed)

Becker Mexico Radio w/Cassette

Leather Seats

Zebrano Wood Inlay

Hard Top with covers and caddy.

All original Brown paint has a good finish with a few chips, dings, and swirls; what you would expect on a well maintained 91K vehicle. Has bright and clear chrome trim.
All original interior shows use/wear with the age.

Hardtop: Vehicle with OEM Hard-Top.
Soft-Top: OEM Original Tan Soft-top. Clear plastic windows, and canvass is in very good condition.

Chrome Wheels are after-market but the original wheels are boxed and come with the vehicle.

This is a two owner car. Original owner was a Dr. in Michigan who owned the vehicle until his passing. The family listed this car on consignment with a dealership and I purchased this vehicle in 2013.
