Description of 1977 Mercedes-Benz Other |
I'm Running this ad, as is, one more time for the season. Winter is here, but I'm happy to help make this amazing truck yours whenever...... Thanks for the interesting auctions.... I hope the potential buyer doesn't hesitate to contact me about an offering, sprinter and cash for instance.... Or sprinter less cash......keep in contact as your plans for an adventure vehicle develop! This was reportedly a West German riot police vehicle... This is a project that hasn't run in several years and needs some assembly to do so, including installing the radiator and coolant lines, wiring the alternator, installing the pto gearbox, cleaning the fuel system and installing the water separator, as well as lots of little things not mentioned.......many new parts including all new interior fabric and cushioning on seats as well as headliner. 'New' tires............ a couple boxes of parts in the rig including some lighting, windshield wipers, mirrors, badging, etc....... a (nearly complete) project Truck on the way to being a great adventure rig. the last couple photos are portions of the paperwork from restoration efforts done several years ago, totalling over $40k. this rig was purchased in west germany and was reportedly a riot police rig. It was originally police green, now midnight metallic purple with orange frame...? All appears to be very solid with minimal deterioration. There is no box or rear bed. I do also have the rear windows expanded metal protective cover to keep the molotov cocktails out...(needs minor work for mounting) A few of the noteworthy line items from the list of things done include:Continental tires 365/80R20: 3500.00Disc brakes: 450.00Good used shocks: 600.00Fast ring and pinion set : 4600.00Cab mounts : 400.00Diff housing: 480.00Repair kit diff: 2200.00Alternator: 390.00Tapered roller bearings: 1000.00The above is a partial list of highlights, with all those prices stated rounded down from invoice totals......new parts sitting there unused on the rig are probably ~$20,000.00 from the invoice. I'm guessing with an enthusiast tinkerer, or a little professional help enlisted, it'd be a couple/few thousand dollars to get it rolling with labor and fluids, parts, etc... Offers considered. no need to sell, I'm just interested in getting a 4x4 sprinter van to replace it (hint, hint) and testing the waters to see what might be out there for offers for a quick, easy sale/swap to move on to the next project........ ..........Don't hesitate to inquire if this thing is something you really want and you can make a reasonable offer. My vision was an expedition RV, it's a great starting point for a lot of different builds... milage is in kilometers at about 63,000... translating to roughly 39,200 miles on this setup built to roll past 300k.... All funds will be verified and completely transferred prior to vehicle or title transfer. Might be willing to hear installment ideas and can keep the rig here for a bit if needed. AS is, Where is. you will have to arrange all transportation from my location AFTER all payment is finalized and confirmed... Clear title in my name. NON-refundable $1000 deposit/earnest money due upon agreement for sale. full balance of agreed price will be settled and confirmed in my possession prior to vehicle or vehicle title leaving my posession, period. feel free to ask any questions, I'm happy to tell you what I know about it IF you are an interested buyer, but there is a lot I don't know about it also........... |
