Description of 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series

For sale is a great, very comfortable car. I have owned for 10 years and 100,000 miles. Time to move on to another car. This is a turbo diesel that could be converted to burn vegetable oil or use biodiesel. Averages around 27 MPG on the highway. As you can see from photos, there is some rust on body and clear coat has begun to come off, and somehow there are scratches and discoloration on the roof. Gertrude has been a very dependable car for the past 10 years. I have driven her to Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, and Florida very comfortably. She starts and runs like a top. However, the transmission has failed and I am not prepared to deal with that. In addition, as is typical of these cars, the climate control is either too hot or too cold; I am told that is typical of these cars but I am ready for a more steady control. She has had an oil change every 3-5,000 miles, radiator flush every two years, and other routine maintenance. As the photos show, there are two drip spots on the street, not sure what is leaking. These are new. The cruise control also does not work, despite replacing all components of that system. 185,000 miles, mostly highway for the past 100,000. The interior was in mint condition when I purchased the car and is still very good, except for the cracks starting to develop in the dashboard.

I used it as my travel car. I think the car had been in a front end collision before my ownership because of new paint inside the engine compartment. I had a spin out in a blizzard in Ohio and damaged the left front quarter panel which I replaced.
